What a beautiful bathroom!

As we have discussed earlier on the blog, kitchens and bathrooms are definitely the two sets of areas in a house that make outstanding selling points, and it is the current owner's responsibility to make them as beautiful as they can be at the moment (and of course, on a budget). An unrealistic piece of advice that I could provide here is that the best way to obtain your ideal bathroom while on a budget is to not make any mistakes when remodeling it; many readers might be thinking how extravagant that sounds, but it's actually not that complicated when having the adequate assistance of professionals and their guidance. It is rare when clients call us for an estimate on a space that they haven't remodeled before, since as a design and construction company in the residential area, our most common jobs come from fixes and, indeed, remodels. Customers' reasonings do vary, however. We could say that about half of the time, clients are seeking to upgrade their home to put it on the market, while the other half of the time they are just striving for a better place to live at their current property. Independently from your own reasoning at this instant, there are some ways to make your bathroom beautiful according to your own economic and stylistic standards.

First of all, let's talk about that set of words that are easily forgotten but that they can surely change an entire room within seconds: "Focal Point". Yes, who would have thought that a bathroom could benefit from that piece of old artwork hiding in your attic?! It does't seem like an actual probability, but it definitely is, especially nowadays that the vintage theme is becoming such a popular trend! Or if you're not a fan of that type of rusticness enhanced by your great-grandparents' wedding pictures, modernism also has its own practical ways:

My point is that, even if we're talking about the minuscule guest bathroom downstairs, you still need to add your own mark and sense of style with a main focal point able to determine your theme and, more importantly, your personality.

Another aspect of extreme importance here will doubtlessly end being lighting, and with that I mean to emphasize the main USE of the bathroom itself. If I had a dollar for every time a client found him/herself content with the current lighting of the space we have to remodel in some other manner other than lighting, I wouldn't even have the fifty cents of those who are partially satisfied with it. Yes, incandescent lighting might be tempting, especially because it's our "traditional" type of lighting, and because you may like how some of the hues in your color scheme look under these bulbs. Nevertheless, once you have decided on certain decorations for your bathroom, it is time to think about the activities of your everyday life (and I can personally affirm this, since without being a makeup-lover, even applying mascara under incandescent lighting can become a problem for me sometimes). My recommendation? Go to different home improvement stores and play with some LED lights and other fixtures until you find what accommodates your needs in a better way! Dare to be different.

Finally, just like any other design project, a bathroom's final touch ends being color, and in this case we're referring to make it colorful in a way that makes 'you' look at your best. When you wake up in the morning to start getting ready for work, school, etc., you do not need to begin your day with insecurities nor negative vibes. What you need the most on that Monday morning is to look at yourself in the mirror and let those rosy and neutral hues bring out the motivation you need to start your day with a favorable attitude, and we know more than well that our appearances have always uselessly matter, either we like to admit it or not. Just like incandescent lights, that grass-green paint for your wall might seem tempting at the moment of deciding the future color scheme for your bathroom; however, khakis and grays are great selections for any type of lighting that you decide to utilize in this area, and more pale hues do make your external beauty pop out even more!

There is an infinity of factors to consider when designing or re-designing any room around your living spaces, but these were just a few of the ones that should help you take the next step towards your ideal bathroom areas.
