About Granite Countertops

Granite is a natural stone, which is uniquely found on the Planet Earth, formed by the melted rock that is under the ground--also known as magma--and the pressure of the Earth's surface itself. This last one is also one of the most convenient materials in architectural terms, since granite has been adapted in our societies to function as trimming, paving, structural building stones and bases, decorative sculptures, grave markers, and, of course, countertops. Its durability has opened a great diversity of doors when talking about the several ways that we can incorporate granite into our every day lives, and this natural stone can definitely make splendid, eye-catching and resistant countertops.

Granite has an infinite variety of color tones, with distinct natural decorations on every slab that can make the entire area surrounding it exceptionally unique. It is rather difficult to find two identical spaces with granite countertops, since the options could literally be endless. And yes, I am talking about style, color scheme, and even the edge picked by the client! Among the most preferred styles, we are able to find trends such as the Alaska White, Azurite, Yellow River, Volga Blue, and the Supreme Fantasy. However, if you think that your choices end there, take a look at the following chart and tell me that more exotic categories such as Thunder Wave and Verde Butterfly do not make you wonder of the originality that could be achieved in any interior space with these surreal countertops:

Furthermore, having such attractive and resistant material as countertops, we have to remind ourselves of the care that should be applied so that your granite countertops can appeal as pleasing throughout the years and even right after the installation. The myth stating that granite countertops stain easily is nothing more than a myth, and although you do have to be careful when using acids such as lime and even red wine over the counter, that is just something to keep in mind with quartz countertops as well. Yes, granite countertops, unlike quartz, do need sealing after installation, but clients sometimes complicate their lives with all these different chemicals and techniques to clean their granite, while, honestly, the best way to take care of it it’s been proven to be pure water. Of course you can go to Home Depot and spend a couple of dollars for a special spray or anything similar, however, as long as you are consistent, it doesn’t really matter what you utilize. In other words, every time you drop some wine on your countertop, make sure to clean it right away, and do not wait for it to stain the next day!
Other than that, there is no reason to change your mind on that beautiful slab of granite that you loved since the first time you saw its sample.
